Bulgarian bluegrass
band Lilly of the West had a very strong performing schedule
in June/July: concerts for the British and American embassies
in Sofia, appearances on the Bulgarian National and satellite
TV, an open-air concert on Parliament Square in Sofia, and
many openings of governmental events. The band has also
headlined the promotion campaign of Carlsberg beer, playing
several open-air concerts around Bulgaria.
The band has teamed up with Slovak
musicians Michal Barok ('Meantime') and Roman Sykora ('Earthquake')
for recordings and future touring plans. In addition to her
work with her band Lilly Drumeva is co-owner and presenter at
Retro Radio Network, Bulgaria's most popular private radio station.
She also co-hosts a country & bluegrass show on Bulgaria's
National Radio.
