Lilly of the
West news July / Aug 2006:
July was a busy month for Lilly of the West,
featuring Jesse Brock. Lilly of the West toured in Switzerland
and Norway, aside from performing Sofia's musical scene. Lilly
of the West was one of the headliners of the Risor Bluegrass
Festival/Music Camp, in Norway (July 12-16), along with Petr
Brandejs Band (CZ), Blueland (SK), Bluegrass Cwrkot (CZ). Jesse
Brock was one of the teachers at the Bluegrass camp, giving
his skills to a range of mandolin players from all over Europe.
Lilly also had students taking singing workshops, explaining
breathing techniques, voice exercises, and also joining in on
the band workshop (How to make a band work).
The promoter, Dagfinn Pedersen and his large family treated
Lilly of the West to warm hospitality.
Lilly of the West performed a strong
show on the festival's main stage, the line-up consisted of:
Lilly Drumeva - Vocals, Guitar
Jesse Brock - Mandolin, Vocals
Petr Brandejs - Banjo
Henri Novak - Resophonic Guitar
Ondra Kozak - Guitar
Vilma Orlitova - Bass
Lilly & Jesse performed in Bulgaria
at the Poetry & Music Festival (July 22 & 23), sponsored
by the Natural History Museum of Sofia. Jesse Brock was presented
an award for contributions to the Bulgarian Acoustic Scene.
Lilly Drumeva is working on a new video clip and upon completion
on the 5th Lilly of the West album.
From Sep. 1st-10th,
Lilly & Jesse will embark on a U.S. tour. This is their

with Marshall Wiborn (bass_ and Pete Kelly (banjo).

Sept.7th - Coffee Brewhouse - Lusby, MD.
Sept.8th - Holiday Inn Club - Solomons, MD.
Sept.9th - Holy Lutheran Church - Herndon, MD.
